SIMPLE QUESTIONS ON THE KINGDOM


1. What did Isaiah prophesy about the birth of Christ and His Kingdom? "For unto us A CHILD is born, unto us A SON is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder . . . Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, UPON THE  THRONE OF DAVID, and upon his kingdom"—Isa. 9:6-7.

2. Was our Lord Jesus Christ born a King?
"Now when Jesus was born in Beth­lehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is BORN KING OF THE JEWS?"—Matt. 2:1-2.

3. How did our Lord announce His Kingdom at His first coming?
"Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is AT HAND; repent ye, and believe the gospel"—Mark 1:14-15.

4. Why did not Christ set up His King­dom over men on earth at His first coming?
"But they cried out, Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar"—John 19:15.

5. Did God know that His Son would be rejected by men at His first com­ing?

8. What city will be the capital of Christ's coming Kingdom?
"And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord, to the House of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord FROM JERUSALEM"— Isa. 2:3.

9. How will Christ rule over the na­tions in His Kingdom?
"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall EXE­CUTE JUDGMENT AND JUSTICE IN THE EARTH . . . And this is his name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUS­NESS"—Jer. 23:5-6.

10. What did Christ promise about His people reigning with Him in the Kingdom?

11. How long will Christ's people reign with Him on earth?

13. How will Christ judge the Living Nations at the beginning of His Kingdom?
"And before Him shall be gathered all nations; and HE SHALL SEPA­RATE THEM one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats"—Matt. 25:32.

14. How will Christ destroy all forms of evil when He sets up the King­dom?

15. How will Christ deal with the na­tion of Israel in the Kingdom? "For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land . .. 16. What will be some of the spiritual blessings in our Lord's Kingdom?

17. What will be done about War when Christ sets up His Kingdom?
"He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation. NEITHER SHALL THEY LEARN WAR ANY MORE"—Isa. 2:4.

19. How will the poor be treated in the Kingdom of Christ?
"For He shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper"—Psa. 72:12.

20. How will the sick and afflicted be treated under the reign of Christ? "Then the eyes of the BLIND shall be opened, and the ears of the DEAF shall be unstopped. Then shall the LAME man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the DUMB sing"—Isa. 35: 5-6a.

22. How will the earth produce bounti­fully under Christ's rule?

23. How will our Lord enforce His law when He reigns on earth?
"And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even UPON THEM SHALL BE NO RAIN" —Zech. 14:17.

24. Will our Lord's reign bring happi­ness to those who submit to it? "And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: THEY SHALL OBTAIN JOY AND GLADNESS, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away"—Isa. 35:10.

25. What will Christ do with His King­dom when the Thousand Years are finished?
"Then cometh the end, when HE SHALL HAVE DELIVERED UP THE KINGDOM TO GOD, EVEN THE FATHER; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet" —1 Cor. 15:24-25.

26. How did our Lord teach His disciples to pray about the Kingdom? "THY KINGDOM COME. Thy will be done IN EARTH, as it is in heaven"—Matt. 6:10.
