DO WE WORK OR PLAY IN HEAVEN?

Kingdom of God Work

What are the job assignments of those in heaven? Do they sit on clouds and play harps? Or does the Bible tell us what we will be engaged in doing after our arrival?

In the Kingdom of God we are told three times in Revelation alone that we shall rule and reign with Him. We are ruling priests (Melchizedekian).
Rev. 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
Rev. 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
The thousand years is the length of the millennial kingdom of God, the coming age, which it tells its length 6 times in Rev. 20 which some religious groups dare to deny to their shame.

The duty of the Priest is stated in Lev 10:10 and Ezek. 22:26. Our earthly priestly duties are stated by Paul in Rom 15:16 "...ministering as a priest the gospel of God." Our millennial duties are spoken of in the above verses.

The strength of the priests is stated in 1 Chron. 24:5 where it teaches us that the priest who is perfectly submitted to the will of God has the most strength. Therefore answers comes with his service making worship possible for those who seek his service. We are completely submitted to doing His will in the Kingdom so our worship and service is perfect.

Worship and service go hand in hand in the Kingdom of God. We have been taught that in the scriptures that we read. Here is the vital linking of service and worship. See:
Matt. 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him.

Heaven is a place of labor for the ones He has died for, sanctified, perfected, and who now serve Him in His kingdom. Adam was no sooner on this earth, than he was given job assignments each day till he fell. The garden needed his input and output. Satan wanted that same type of allegiance and the war began. We see us back in a garden in the end serving Christ and His Father out of loving hearts. Serving as the angels now serve Him until our salvation is complete. Just as Christ performed while on this earth, ever wanting to do the will of God, His Father.
