SIMPLE QUESTIONS ABOUT SALVATION
 

1. Can we save ourselves from sin?
"By grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES; it is the gift of God"—Eph. 2:8.

2. Who is able to save us from, sin? "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that CHRIST JESUS came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief"-1 Tim. 1:15.
(Matt. 1:21, Luke 2:11, John 1:29, 3:17, 1 John 3:6, Heb. 7:26)

3. Is it possible to be saved apart from the Lord Jesus Christ?
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for THERE IS NONE OTHER name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved"—Acts 4:12.

4. What did Jesus Christ do to save sinners?
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US"—Rom. 5:8.

5. Prove that Christ died in our stead, suffering the punishment that we deserved.
"But He was wounded for OUR transgressions, He was bruised for OUR iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US ALL"—Isa. 53:5-6.

6. What must we do to be saved? "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"—Acts 16: 31.

7. Do any good works of ours help us to be saved?
"NOT BY WORKS of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit"—Tit. 3:5.

8. What does God do with our sins when we are saved?
"He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities..... As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He REMOVED our transgressions from us"—Psa. 103:10, 12.

9. What kind of life does God give to us who believe?
"And this is the record, that God hath given to us ETERNAL LIFE, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life"-1 John 5:11-12.

10. Can those who have the gift of eternal life ever lose it?
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give unto them eternal life; and THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand"—John 10:27-28.

11. Can those who are saved ever be condemned?
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION; but is passed from death unto life"—John 5:24.

12. Is it possible for us to KNOW that we are saved forever?
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God; THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE"-1 John 5:13.

13. If we are truly saved, how should we act?
"WE LOVE HIM, because He first loved us"-1 John 4:19.
"This is the love of God, that we KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS"— 1 John 5:3.

14. If we are truly saved, what should be our attitude toward sin? "I ACKNOWLEDGED my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I NOT HID. I said, I will CONFESS my transgressions unto the Lord; and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin"—Psa. 32:5.

15. By what names does the Bible call those who are saved?
"For One is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are BRETHREN" —Matt. 23:8.
