Intolerance
The jealousy of God is revealed in the statements in the NT. There is only one true religion according to God. As far as God is concerned, in His Kingdom there is no such thing as religious freedom. His apostles taught likewise.
Gal. 1:4, 8f "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!" "As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preaches unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema."
Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
1 John 5:12 "He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."
Matt. 11:27 "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."
Intolerance is an essential element of true religion. His first commandment is "Thou shalt have no other god's beside Me." One God with one Gospel. If God has really done something in Christ on which the salvation of the world depends and has made it known, then it is the Christian duty to be intolerant of everything which ignores, denies, or explains that Truth away.
The Jews did not want this Man to Rule in their Kingdom. God shares that rule in His Kingdom who know His law of love and think the very same thoughts He does for they are just like Him.
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2
