SIMPLE QUESTIONS ON THE COMMUNION
 

1. What did the Lord command us about partaking of the Bread and the Cup?
"The Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed TOOK BREAD; and when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat; this is My Body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me."
"After the same manner also He TOOK THE CUP, when He had supped, saying, This Cup is the New Testament in My Blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me"-1 Cor. 11:23-25.

2. What past work of Christ is symbolized by the Bread and the Cup? "For as often as ye eat this Bread, and drink this Cup, ye do show the LORD'S DEATH till He come" —1 Cor. 11:26.

3. How does our eating and drinking symbolize the appropriation of Christ's life by faith?
"Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His Blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My Blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day"—John 6: 53-54.

4. What should we remember as we partake of the Bread and the Cup?
"The Cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the Blood of Christ? The Bread which we break, is it not the communion of the Body of Christ?-1 Cor. 10:16.

5. How does the Bible warn us about partaking of the Communion unworthily?
"Wherefore whosoever shall eat this Bread, and drink this Cup of the Lord, UNWORTHILY, shall be guilty of the Body and Blood of the Lord" —1 Cor. 11:27.

6. What should each of us do, especially during t h e feet - washing service, as we approach the Communion?
"But let a man EXAMINE HIMSELF, and so let him eat of that Bread, and drink of that Cup"-1 Cor. 11:28.

7. How can we be cleansed from all sin and be made worthy to partake of the Bread and the Cup?
"If we CONFESS OUR SINS, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"-1 John 1:9.
