THE PREREQUISITES FOR FINAL JUDGMENT MUST BE IN THE JUDGE

THE PREREQUISITES FOR FINAL JUDGMENT MUST BE IN THE JUDGE

  • The Judge must Possess Absolute Sovereignty
This means that His voice must be final, and there is no appeal beyond it. He must be the Supreme Court.
Heb. 12:23 "To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,"
Deut. 1:17 "Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it."
Ps. 75:7 "But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another."

  • The Judge must Possess Complete Omniscience
This means that there is no chance to make a mistake.
Isa. 40:9-14 "O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?"
  •  The Judge must possess infinite righteousness. This means that there is no possibility for Him to do wrong
Gen. 18:25 Shall not the judge of all . . . do right?
"That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?"
2 Tim. 4:8 The Lord the righteous judge.
"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
Isa. 61:8  I the Lord love judgment.
"For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them."
Psa. 97:2 Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of his throng (ASV).
"Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne."
  • The Judge must Display Gracious Longsuffering
Ps. 94:2 "Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud."
James 5:7-9 Be patient, the husbandman is.
"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door."
2 Pet. 3:9 But is long suffering to usward.
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
