GOD'S PURPOSE IN CREATION FINALLY FULFILLED

THE EXALTATION AND GLORIFICATION OF THE GREAT GOD IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD THROUGH ALL ETERNITY

The purpose of God in creation was to establish a kingdom in the earth where He could display His glory in the person of His Son. To accomplish this He created subjects who made in His image and therefore capable of apprehending, appreciating, and applauding His glory. The Bible unfolds that program from Genesis to Revelation.

The movement of God through the millenniums of time has been to accomplish this purpose.
  •  In the Garden of Eden God displayed His glory in the enfolding fire about which the cherubim gathered. Gen. 3:24
"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
This was open to Adam and Eve and perhaps continued to be available to men up to the time of the flood.

But men turned their back on God, and it appears that God had failed o His purpose, for He withdrew this revelation.

  • In the years following the flood God displayed His glory to the patriarchs at various intervals
Gen. 6:8, 13-21;-7:1; 8:15-22; 9:1,8,12, 17  -- Noah

Gen. 12;1-3,7; 13:14; 15:1-18;17:1-22; 18:1; 21:12; 22:1-19 - Abraham
Gen. 26:1-5 - Isaac

Gen. 28:10-22; 32:24-32; 35:1, 9-12; 48:3-4 - Jacob
Gen. 37:5 - 11; 39:2,21; 50:20 - Joseph

Exod. 3: and 4: 5:24 6:1-8, 28-30; 7:1-9,14,19; 8:1,16, 20; 9:1,8, 13, 22; 10:1, 12, 21; 11:1, 9; 12:1, 43; 13:1, 21-22 - Moses
  • God manifest Himself to the Children of Israel in a Pillar of Fire by night and a cloud by day
Exod. 13:21-22; 14:19-22, 31; 16:7, 10

  •  When the tabernacle was finished the Glory of Lord Filled it. This also happened with the temple.
Exod. 40:34 - 38; 1 Kings 8:10-11
  •  But the children of Israel turned their back on the Lord, AND THE glory of the Lord departed from the temple
Ezek. 8:3-4; 9:3; 10:4, 18; 11:23
  • Six hundred years later Christ came and in Him was manifest the glory of the Lord
John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
But only those in whose heart God shined did they see the glory of the Lord. 2 Cor. 4:6
"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
Then Jesus took His departure after death and Resurrection.

  • In a real but spiritual sense God manifests His glory in the church
John 17:22 "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one."
Acts 6:15 "And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel."

Acts 7:55 "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,"
  •  At the Coming of Christ at rapture and revelation the glory of God will be manifest
Rom. 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
Rom. 8:18 "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
Matt. 24:30 "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
2 Thess. 1:9 "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power."
Tit. 2:13 "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ."
1 Peter 5:1 "The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:"
Col. 3:4 "When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."
  • The glory of God in the person of Christ will be manifest during the Millennial Kingdom
Matt. 25:31 "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:"

Ezek. 43:2 "And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory."
Psa. 72:19 "And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen."
Isa. 59:19 "So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him."

Isa. 60:1-2 "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee."
  • At last and for eternity the supreme purpose of God will be realized in its Fullness in the Exhibition and Effect of His Glory
  • The Capitol City and the Entire Kingdom will Experience a Display of the Glory of God
Rev. 21:11, 23 "Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal." "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."
  • The Temple is the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ in whom is Exhibited the Fullness of the Glory of God
Rev. 21:22 "And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it."
  • The Luminary for the Capital City and for the Empire is the Lord Jesus Christ. He Radiates the Light which is the Glory of God
Rev. 21:23 "And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."
  •  The Inhabitants of the City and the Kingdom walk in the light of the Glory of God Radiating from Christ
Rev. 21:24 "And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it."
  •  The Effect of this Blazing Glory as Displayed in His face is to fix irrevocably in each Forehead the full Significance of His Name
Rev. 22:4 "And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads."
