VALUE OF CHRIST'S TESTIMONY CONCERNING THE INSPIRATION OF THE SCRIPTURES

VALUE OF CHRIST'S TESTIMONY
CONCERNING INSPIRATION

Introduction
1. No scholar has ever denied successfully that the recorded testimony of Christ supports the most absolute and sweeping doctrine of Biblical Inspiration.
2. The only alternative, therefore, left to dissenters was to advance certain theories which were intended to invalidate the force of His testimony. We shall consider three differing theories of these.
3. Historical knowledge is different from mathematical knowledge. The agnostic needs to understand that premise.

1st - THE AGNOSTIC THEORY:
-           How do we know Christ said what is recorded of His words?
-           Answer:
1. How do we know anything in history? Same theory would apply to all historical knowledge.
Investigation, comparison, verification, confirmation is the method to follow. And this has been done over and over again. And continues today.
2. Even merely human testimony is worth something. The basic assumption of all historians. Otherwise, history would be an impossibility.

To follow the Accomadation theory and finally the Kenosis theory.
