A PROPHET LIKE ME
Acts 2:22; Deut. 18:15; Acts 7:37
1. They were both born at a time when Israel was under a Gentile king (Exod. 1:8-10; Luke 2:1)
2. They were both placed in very unusual baby beds (Exod. 2:3; Luke 2:7)
3. Both were miraculously saved from death while babies (Exod. 2:1-3; Matt. 2:6)
4. Both were reared by daughters of the Kingly line (Exod. 2:5-8; Luke 1:30-33).
5. Both were brought up in homes of men who were not their fathers (Acts 7:21-22; Matt. 1:18-25)
6. Both fled their land because of the wrath of the King (Exod. 2:15; Matt. 2:13)
7. Both returned and performed mighty miracles (Exod. 4:19-21; Deut. 29:2-3; Matt. 2:19; 4:23)
8. Both appointed twelve and sent them on their mission (Num. 13:1-2, 17, 21, 25; Matt. 10:1-8)
9. Both were criticized by their own relatives (Num. 13:1-2; John 7:5)
10. Both were men of deep humility and meekness (Num. 12:9-14; Luke 17:12-19)
11. Both were able to cleanse the worst disease, leprosy (Num. 12:9-14; Luke 17:12-19)
12. Both provided a cure for serpent bites (Num. 21:8-9; John 3:14-15; 1 Pet. 2:24)
13. Both provided deliverance for Israel, through the blood (Exod. 12:1; Heb. 9:11-15)
14. Both volunteered to die for the people. Moses was not permitted, Christ was obliged to die (Exod. 32:31-34; John 10:11, 17-18; Rom. 5:8, 10-11)
A great work was specifically delegated to Moses, for which he was particularly commissioned by the Almighty God, viz., to erect and organize a Theocratic government, in this Jesus will follow his footsteps, and evidence the same work, only on a much grander scale. This work has been postponed unto the Son of Man's Second Advent.
