THE PERSON WHO SITS ON HIS THRONE AS THE GREAT JUDGE

THE PERSON WHO SITS ON HIS THRONE AS THE GREAT JUDGE

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them."
Rev. 20:11

  • This Person is God. Rev. 20:11-12
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."
From whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. Consult Rev. 1:12-16, cf. 22:1, 3
"And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength."
"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:"
  • This Person is Man.
Consult John 5:22, 27; cf. Rev. 22:1, 3
"For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:" "And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man."
"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:"
  • This Person is Lamb. Consult Rev. 20:11
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them."
Rev. 21:23; 22:4
"And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof."
"And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads."
Rev. 1:16
"And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength."
Rev. 6:16 - The wrath of the Lamb.
"And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb."

As the Lamb of God He bore punishment for men.
As the Lamb in demeanor He now breaks forth in wrath.
