THE PEOPLE WHO WILL STAND BEFORE THIS JUDGMENT THRONE

THE PEOPLE WHO WILL STAND BEFORE THIS JUDGMENT THRONE

  •  They are Referred to as "the dead," Without Discrimination as to Person. cf. Rev. 20:5 and 1 Cor. 15:24
"But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."
"Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power."
That portion of the dead who were saved and were raised a thousand years before (Rev. 20:5).
This is the end resurrection. 1 Cor. 15:24.
The word dead lays emphasis upon the bodies, and therefore denotes a physical resurrection.
  • They are referred to as the wicked from all ages. These are the ones who can be hurt of the second death (Rev. 2:11; 19:21; 20:14-15; Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:6).
"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death."
"And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."
"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."
"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."
  • They are lost people whose destiny is sealed forever. Therefore the issue to be decided is not their destiny, Rev. 21:8; 22:15, but the degree of punishment.
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
"For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."
Their destiny was decided when they rejected Christ and elected to bear their punishment.
