PRESENT SANCTIFICATION - ITS BASIS

PRESENT SANCTIFICATION - ITS BASIS: Sanctification by the Word is based on sanctification by blood  and is unseparable from it.

 +New Testament texts:

Eph. 5:25-26 Christ gave himself at the cross that He might sanctify the church. There must be a silent starting place. If not bought, then why look for directions from one who has no right to command us. It's like mounting a camel and going off in all directions.
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word."

John 17:19 He sanctified himself for death, that He might sanctify through the Word. "And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth."
Cf. John 17:1-5 "These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:" "As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him." "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.' "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do." "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was."
Cf. John 12:27-33 "Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour." "Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." "The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him." "Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes." "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." "This he said, signifying what death he should die."

 + Old Testament types:

Ex. 30:18 Laver. But one had to come first to the Brazen altar before the Layer. "Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein."
Ex. 24:6-7 Moses took the blood first, then the Book. Then people promised to obey. "And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar." "And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient."
Num. 19:1-10 cf. Heb. 9:13, 19  Water is a type of the Word. But this is a peculiar type of water. It has in it the ashes of a sacrifice. This is then sprinkled showing a combination of blood and water. "And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying," "This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:" "And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:" "And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:" "And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:" "And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer." "Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even." "And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even." "And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin." "And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute forever."

+Some conclusions:

-Work of the Word is only for those who come to the altar of Blood. Word sanctifies because it tells of the Blood. Take the cross out of the Bible, and it could not sanctify.
-Must be the Word that tells of the Blood. Therefore the Word is only for those who first come to the Blood.
