RAPTURE REFERRED TO BY VARIOUS TERMS

Rapture Referred to by Various Terms

2 Thess. 2:1 "Our gathering together unto him."The apostle is referring here to his previous letter to the Thessalonians, in which he had explained “our gathering together unto Him” and its significance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17).

Cf. Heb. 10:25 for illustration of  episunagwgh episunagoge ep-ee-soon-ag-o-gay'
These little assemblies down here are the earnest of the great one in heaven.
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
The reason being that without Christ you can do nothing (John 15:7). He uses the Church for His ministry of saving souls.
The instance of Thomas in John 20:24. In the hour of darkness we should never forsake the assembling ourselves together.

Romans 8:23 "The adoption" - We already have sonship as an ideal possession, but we wait for the actuality. "The redemption of our bodies" - The purchase has been made, but the full realization awaits the resurrection. The unfinished business of Jesus Christ.
"And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body."

Romans 13:11 "Our salvation is nearer than when we first believed."

1 Peter 1:5 "Unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time"

Phil. 3:14 "The high calling of God" (AV), or "upward calling of God" (RV)
