SCRIPTURE IS A WORK OF REVELATION

God Revealed the Material - A Varied and Complex Work - cf. Heb. 1:1

 

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

 

 Notice that Christ is the Creator and the world has not evolved which is how many call Christ a liar. They give fallen science more credibility than the Lord Himself. He said such things as male and female was there at the beginning which threw evolution out the window unless you want to call the Creator a liar and He was there. But men like to paly games with His word which He calls truth as well as Himself Who He says is the Truth which is the same yesterday, today and forever. But again religious men don't want Him to rule over them. He says such things as God is One but yet there are three of them. "Let Us go down...." No wonder the Jews had trouble with His theology.

 

There are at least (9) nine - "diverse ways" of Revelation to explain what the Hebrew Writer meant

1. Exodus 33:11 Direct voice of God - "Spoke to Moses face to face."
2. Exodus 31:18 Writing from hand of God "Tables of stone."
3. Genesis 41:15-16 Dreams - Joseph's interpretation of Pharaoh's dreams. 41:2
4. Ezekiel 1:1 Visions
5. Psalm 51 In the spiritual life and experiences of God's people.
6. Hebrews (Book) Types - Typical men and things cf. 1 Cor. 10:11
7. Romans 1:20-21 In the natural world
8. 1 Corinthians 10:6, 11 Historical events
9. 2 Peter 1:21 Direct influence of the Holy Spirit. God had to con­trol purposefully all details of the world. Revelation would not be enough.

• Somebody had to distinguish between revelation and that which is not.
• Revelation must be set down in written form in absolute accuracy, that is, make a selection of material.
