He Chose Certain Men Through Whom He Would Make This Revelation - HIS WORD - Through Other Men
"Ye also shall bear witness because ye have been with me from the beginning." John 15:26-27
The 12 Apostles Were Chosen by Christ on Earth
John 16:13 "You" - primary reference is to the
apostles, not the Church at large. Implication though overflowing to the Church at
large.
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."
John 15:26-27 "Ye also shall bear witness because ye
have been with me from the beginning." Isolates immediately those under
consideration.
Acts 1:8 "You shall be witnesses." Martyrs. What
you have seen and heard makes one a martyr, not dying.
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
Witnessing depends upon the indwelling spirit. These must wait for the promise. The Lord has a definite plan for progress in spreading His word.

Some Were Chosen by Christ in Heaven
Acts 9:4-6, 15 "For he is a chosen vessel unto me, to
bear my name."

Christ Outlined in Advance the General Content of This
Revelation
The N.T. Revelation will be -
John 14:26 Historical (Gospels and Acts). "Bring all things to
your remembrance." Things already said. The passing of time would cause
failure to remember certain details so that an accurate and historical record
so this would need some Divine guidance with the Power of the Holy Spirit.
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
A great many people are making the grave mistake of expecting a consciousness of the Spirit; yet that which the Spirit creates is a consciousness of Christ. Upon this the Lord was most explicit from beginning to end; the Spirit shall not speak of Himself, or concerning Himself; so that the test of the measure of our fellowship with the Spirit is not our knowledge of the Spirit, but our knowledge of the Christ Whom the Spirit reveals. He came secondly to recall to the disciples the words of past commandments; thirdly to co-operate with them in their witness to Christ, and finally to guide them into all the truth. John 16:13-14
John 16:14-15 Doctrinal - Epistles. "Will take of mine
and show to you." The things of Christ - see note above on Whom the Spirit reveals - not Himself but Christ.
"He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall show it unto you."
John 16:13b Prophetic - Revelation. "Will show you
things to come."
That is the outcome of things."Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come."
John 16:13a Final, complete and finished. "Will guide
you into all truth."
"Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come."
Knowing in Advance What Would
be Spoken and Written Under the Guidance
of the Holy Spirit, He Gave to These Future Words the Same Authority as
His Own.
No Other Group Had Such
Authority.
Matt. 10:2, 14-20 "For it is not ye that speak but the
Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you." Said only to His 12 men.
John 15:20 "If they have kept my saying, they will keep
yours also." Spoken to the 12 apostles.
John 17:18 "As thou hast sent Me into the world, even
so have I also sent them."
John 17:20 "Those which shall believe on me through
their word."
Argument: Christ knew he would soon leave the earth, and
the apostles would die in the same generation, and yet men would believe years
after through their word. Therefore it was necessary that these men would
commit to writing these teachings.
What about those N.T. writers not of the 12 Apostles?
Who?
(John) Mark, Luke (Grk. Speaking Jew), James, Jude (Brothers
of Jesus),
