RESTORATIONISM BREAKS DOWN UNDER SCRUTINY OF THE WORD OF GOD

Restorationism Breaks Down Utterly in the Light of the Word of God

Prov. 29:1, 11:7 "And that without remedy" - "His expectation shall perish."
"He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy."
"When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth."

Luke 12:10, cf. Mk. 3:29 "It shall not be forgiven him" - "Eternal sin."
"And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven."
Now this infinite difference between the sin of blasphemy against the Son and that against the Spirit is not based upon any difference in the sanctity of their respective persons, but rather upon the difference between their respective ministries. The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of men, and therefore in Him any and all sin can be forgiven without limitations. But outside of Him nothing can be forgiven. Now it is the peculiar ministry of the Spirit to testify to the Son and thus bring sinners into the only place where sin can be forgiven. And such pardon for repentant sinners was basic in the Kingdom of our Lord. It follows therefore that sinful resistance to the Holy Spirit, in the exercise of this peculiar ministry, must logically belong to a category of sin which is unpardonable. It is not that God ever ceases to be a God of grace; but that it is morally impossible for God to forgive sin outside of Christ, and a hardened resistance to the witness of the Spirit will keep the sinner outside of Christ forever.
"But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:"
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the sin which has no forgiveness. The Pharisees were trying to account for the actions of Jesus as being due to the influence of demons. Obviously, they were undoing the witness they were receiving of the Holy Spirit. That was a definite and final rejection of Christ and therefore sinning against the Holy Spirit who was in co-operation with Him while on earth. Christ had come to provide a revelation of the Father, to cast out demons, to establish the Kingdom upon their acceptance of the King, by their remaking and perfecting of men. This was an eternal, age-abiding sin, a sin in which there can be no escape, the sin therefore which cannot be forgiven.
Luke 16:26 "None may cross over from thence to us." Great Gulf The separation caused by sin against the testimony of the Holy Spirit concerning Christ.
"And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence."

John 3:36 "Wrath of God abideth on him" (continuous-present tense).
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
Eternal life is not only a future hope but the present possession of everyone who believes in Christ.

John 8:21 "Whither I go ye cannot come."
"Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come."
Where I go flesh and blood cannot survive long enough. The flesh has desires it needs to be rid of, for they cause death and where I go is an eternal place.
Then He continued, and He said, "I go away, and ye shall seek Me, and shall die in your sin; whither I go, ye cannot come." Those were words of condemnation. Again the Jews were perplexed. They said, "Will He kill Himself, that He saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come?" He replied in the same tone of severity as He said, "Ye are from beneath, I am from above; ye are of this world, I am not of this world." Their whole outlook was fleshly, and therefore of Satan. He was not from beneath; but from above. All His vision, and His passion were centered and rooted in the things of heaven.

Matt. 26:24 - by inference - "Good . . . if he'd never been born." If Judas were ever restored it would have been good for him to be born, for existence in life is the most priceless possession.
"The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born."

Phil. 3:18-19 "Whose end is perdition."
"(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)"
The figure of walking is employed with the subject of living. Walking implicates life, volition, effort, direction. Apart from life there is no walking. The idea of a destination and progress toward that destination is immediately the simplest and fullest suggestion. Life is considered as an effort toward a consummation. It is a walk along a highway that leads to a destiny. Here this figure is connected with a purpose for living in mind by the word vocation in the KJV. 1 John 2:6 says "the one who says he abides in Him, OUGHT himself to WALK in the same manner as He WALKED." Jesus makes possible for me to find the way back into fellowship with infinite things.

1 Thess. 4:13 "We sorrow not as those who have no hope."
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope."
"ignorant" agnoeo not to know (through lack of information or intelligence); by implication to ignore (through disinclination):--(be) ignorant voluntarily. Voluntary ignorance. Statement starts out with "but."  Based on the knowledge that they should have known concerning God and His love for His bride, they should have understood that He would not leave them out. Rather, they would have precedence in the promise concerning His return. Based on the fact that God died, rose from the death state are two very remarkable and hard to understand truths concerning the promised Messiah. If He was able to die as God and then able to return from death, then one should also understand that the bride He loves would not be left in a state of death but be WITH Him at His second coming that He promised.

Note: Most complete refutation is Bible Doctrine of Everlasting Punishment which we study later.

Dante - "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here."
