The Reality of the Resurrection Body
- This Means that it will be a Genuine Body
1 Cor. 15:44 declares that there is a natural body; and if there is such; then there is also a spiritual body. Our likeness to him in change of body. We will experience attributes of goodness to perfection. Some of the human powers will be intensified. But attributes of greatness will never become ours (Phil. 3:21).
"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."
"Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."
Christ gave demonstration of the reality of the resurrection body on the night of that first Lord's day. Luke 24:36-43 "Did eat before them."
"And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them."
After 60 long years, John still remembered that event and wrote of it in his first epistle (1 John 1:1-2).
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)"
