The Dynamic Offered to the Church
"To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."
This is an
incentive to do better, to overcome. "To him that overcometh will I give
to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."
What greater incentive could the Lord hold out to his own? Here is the original
privilege again offered to that one who will overcome in this world. What Adam
and Eve forfeited because of sin is now to be restored to that person who will
overcome.
The Discrimination
with the church. "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
This
certainly means that there are some who have the ear and there are others who
do not. Those who do are people with ears made sensitive to the voice of the
Spirit. The others are merely professing people.
The Deterioration
from one church to another
This marks
the progress downward. It is already started. This church has lapsed into a
cold formal worship and devotion that knows no spontaneity.
