Holiness
2 Cor. 3:18
"But
we all, with open face [a face unveiled, not clouded by sin] beholding [gazing
intently] as in a mirror [the mirror of God's Word, the Bible], seeing there
reflected the wondrous glory of the Lord Jesus, we all experience an amazing
transformation [a change from what we have been to what we shall be], we see
ourselves changed into the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself! How can
that ever be? It is by the working of God, the Holy Spirit, who was given to us
for that very purpose; for our holiness. Perfection the outcome. (Matt. 5:48) A new man can come to
finally be perfect as his Master (Luke
6:40).
That is our destiny-Christ-likeness,
holiness. The Divine Agent is the Holy Spirit, sent by the Father in Jesus name
(John 14:26); Third Person of the
Trinity. The accomplishing tool is God's Holy Book, the Bible. Christ controls
the flow of revelation He will bring to the 12 apostles as well as us.
We have been predestined “to be conformed to the image of His Son” (Rom. 8:29), because when He comes again, He
“shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious
body” (Phil. 3:21). He will “make all things new” again (Rev. 21:5).
“Beloved,
now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we
know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as
he is.” 1 John 3:2
