Annihilationism Argues that "Life" and "Existence" are the Same Thing
- Can a human being "exist" without having "life"? Yes!
A man can exist without having life in the Bible use of the term. If he can exist, he can also suffer without having life. If he can suffer in the present world without having life, why not in the next world?
John 6:53 "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you."
1 John 5:11-12 "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
- What is "Life"?
The Annihilationist's answer - Life is existence or else conscious existence. But a table has existence without life, and a tree has life without conscious existence.
- They also affirm that the Greek Terms Translated "Eternal" and "Everlasting" do Not Mean "Eternal"
This will be dealt with in later article
But Bible uses same terms for eternal life.
