The Logic of Annihilationism Poses a Dilemma From Which There is no Escape Without Giving Up Either the Atonement Or The Person Of Christ
- Some Annihilationists do not follow consistently the logic of their position:
The Wages of sin is death
Death is annihilation
But Jesus paid the penalty for sin
- The logical consistency of Russellism (Jehovah Witness):
Thus, either Jesus was annihilated, or he didn't pay the penalty. S. Russell concludes that the man Jesus is Head, forever dead.
- The only two alternatives of Logical Annihilationism:
One must either deny the atonement, or
He must deny the person of Christ.
- The two great Christian facts which destroy the theory of Annihilationism:
Calvary
The Resurrection from the dead
- CONCLUSION:
1. Nirvana -- (in Buddhism) a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of Buddhism. - philosophic Annihilationism.
2 Thus the "hell" of Annihilationism is the "heaven" for which millions of pagans are striving!
Their logic is that do not suffer in hell forever as the Bible states without forgiveness being asked of Jesus for dying in their stead.
