PRESENT SANCTIFICATION - ITS RESULTS

ITS RESULTS:

+ Control of fleshly appetites and lusts:
1 Thess. 4:2-7 "For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus." "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:" "That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor;" "Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:" "That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified." "For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness."
When Christians are seeking to find the will of God for their lives, they should recognize that His will centers, first of all, on their sanctification—that is, the total dedication of their lives, as redeemed sinners, to Christ. While there may be questions about engaging in “doubtful” things (Romans 14:1), there can be no doubt at all—even in this permissive age—that fornication (that is, any sexual relationship outside of heterosexual marriage) is always contrary to God’s will. Engaging in it will inevitably bring grief as spoken of in vs. 6 of those spoken of in vss. 4-5.
John 17:17 with 18 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." "As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world."
We are on a mission just as He was. Therefore we are under instruction to understand as well as comprehend the Servant's teaching us our role and responsibilities as well as our needs to fulfill His mission for each one of us.
2 Tim. 3:16-17 Applies to the preacher himself rather than his hearers. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" "That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

 + Fellowship with Christ.
John 13:8 “If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me.”
John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
John 15:3-4a “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."
We abide in him by faith in his blood, human responsibility
He abides in us by his Spirit, a divine operation

Exod. 30:20 17-21 , Cleanliness is absolutely essential to approach God. This is the object lesson of the laver. The laver was before the altar. In the New Testament is the reality. Christ shall present us to His Father as a completely clean bride. After a washing by blood, He washes the feet after the walk home to the New Jerusalem where we enter the city of the hierarchy of God, the city of many mansions He has prepared for us. John 14:2, the home of the Father.
"And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying," "Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein." "For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:" "When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:" "So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations."
"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
