TOO MUCH BAGGAGE
“Simon Peter said^ to Him, "Lord, where are You going?" Jesus
answered, "Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you shall follow
later." John 13:36
The question of Peter which was caused by the statements of John 12:26. "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there
shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him."
Where Jesus went was by a narrow path, Peter chose the wide
pathway 3 times. After Peter received more light, he looked back to this
statement and then said the things in 2
Pet. 1:14 "knowing that the laying aside of my
earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to
me."
There he wrote of the separation from his earthly tabernacle
to his heavenly tabernacle and where 1
John 3:2 becomes true. Non-instituted elements are not in place as yet
Peter. To follow would require the Spirit's power and the finishing of the
threefold sanctification process illustrated in John 13 by a threefold communion service. Hebrews says Christ was
raised in the power of the Spirit. The afterwards would be after the coming of
the Spirit and begin the finishing of this sanctification process. At this
point Peter you have too much baggage as well as the rest of us. We have no
full comprehension of the final perfecting of the believer as stated in this
book that Peter helped to enlighten us.
