JUDGMENT WILL
BE ACCORDING TO OPPORTUNITY
"Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came'; and
when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order. Then it goes,
and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they
go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the
first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation." Matt. 12:44-45
Men knowing of the
Resurrection, which proves Him to be the greatest Prophet, the greatest King, the
greatest Teacher, and then refuse His teaching and rebel against His rule will
merit the severest condemnation.
The warning of His sentences is obvious
and appropriate. Christ's presence always loosens the bonds of evil. Men always
are conscious of that, whether they confess it or yield to it or not! Sometimes
in the sense of that possibility we sweep and garnish our houses! We are great
on cleanliness and decoration! Let us beware! Such swept and garnished houses
are attractive to demons. Unless they are possessed and held by the King
through His Spirit, the last state may be worse than the first.
