GREATEST IN THE KINGDOM?
That question was asked
several times in the NT. Luke 9:46; Matt. 20:20; Luke 22:24. It seems that many
want to be the leaders in the church. Christ put down that thinking by saying
the church only has one Leader and His name is Jesus Christ (Matt. 23:10). And
he who is the greatest is “whoever humbles himself as this little child is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 18:4). And the mother of Zebedee’s
sons found out in Matt. 20:20 that “He that is able to drink the cup that I am
about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am about to be baptized
with,” (Vs. 22) will sit beside Me in the Kingdom. And the disciples in Luke
9:46 found out that the one that has the heart of a trusting child is greatest
in His Kingdom. Christianity is not for wimps and He makes you strong to serve, not to lead.
