THE FINAL JUDGE OF ALL CREATED
INTELLIGENCES
"For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son." "And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man." John 5:22, 27
NOTE: As David's son He is promised the kingdom; and judgeship being included in the promised theocratic Davidic government, the Father only judges through this Son, the promises based on the covenant require such authority to be given to and to be manifested through the covenanted seed. Hence, as the second Adam recovering the Dominion lost by the first Adam; as the woman's seed who is to crush the serpent's head; as the promised seed of Abraham who is to inherit the land, possess the gate of His enemies, and make all nations blessed; as the son of David who is to arrange so gloriously over the earth; as that God-man who perfects salvation through a theocratic ordering-it is indispensably necessary for Him to occupy such a position to meet the predetermined plan of redemption compare John 5:22, 27. Christ went to the cross for all men. Some wish to pay the penalty themselves. Some wish to submit to His covering. It was necessary for Christ to be raised to be the judge so they can pay their own penalty. Those who believe in Him needed assurance that the debt was paid so they had hope. Jesus has been appointed the Judge.
The confusion on the subject of judgment on the human and natural level makes sovereign pronouncement on this subject imperative. The gradual deterioriation of thinking in almost every sphere of life has produced a mental and moral fog that has reduced the matter of judgment also to the realm of low visibility.
This confusion has also penetrated to the divine and supernatural level and has enveloped the theological realm. Within the confines of professing Christendom almost every shade of theology has developed. And with each shade there has come as a part of it novel and degrading views of judgment.
Liberalism, new orthodoxy, existentialism, new evangelicalism, and the God-is-dead theology have all made profound utterances and have filled the air with confusion.
It is this deplorable situation that makes it necessary to recover the teaching of the Word of God and to refresh the minds of the people of God.
In this series of articles it will be our business to survey the subject of judgment. This series of articles will therefore be eschatological.
In these nine articles we shall survey this subject as dealing with the final judge, the various elements of judgment, the several temporal judgments, the judgment of the Cross, the judgment of the Church, the judgment of living Israel, the judgment of living Gentile nations, the judgment of Satan, the Angels, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet. And finally the judgment of the Wicked Dead.
