THE DEGREE OF PUNISHMENT WILL BE EVALUATED FOR THE WORLD BY THE SAINTS
"Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?"
1 Cor. 6:2-3
1 Cor. 6:2-3
The context where this statement appears suggests that this function of the saints has to do with the evaluation of deeds and the degree of punishment. This is performed in some subsidiary capacity to the Lord Jesus Christ. cf. vs 4-5.
"If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?"
"If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?"
"your shame" The Greek word translated “shame” is entrope, which means “turning inward” or “inversion.” See also 1 Cor. 15:34, where Paul uses the same rebuke. The modern scientific word “entropy” is essentially the same word. In science, entropy is a measure of disorder or confusion.
The character of the saints will then be made perfect. There will be nothing lacking in them. They will be confirmed in holiness so that they cannot sin, and they will then be provided with all the needed information to carry out this responsibility.
1 John 3:2; 1 Cor. 13:12
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
1 John 3:2; 1 Cor. 13:12
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
- The Government of the Saints will be in Close Relation with Christ
Rev. 3:21 Will sit with Christ in His throne.
"To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."
Rev. 2:26-27 Rule nations with rod of iron.
"And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father."
1 Cor. 6:2-3 Will judge world, and angels, demons, Satan, Antichrist, and the False Prophet.
"Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?"
