THE RESULTS OF JUSTIFICATION

THE RESULTS OF JUSTIFICATION

Some Call Justification the Initial Blessing of Salvation
It is this and much more -       Rom. 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Justification brings all the other Blessings of Salvation. CF. Rom. 5:1 and 9 “Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”

Justification brings pardon but infinitely more.
Cf . Rom. 5:10 “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
                        -           Not only release from penalties of Law
                        -           But treated as if we had never sinned.

Some theologians confuse Justification with its results.
Cf. R.C. system - So the doing of penance has been equated as Justification. It was at this point that Luther got his eyes opened in Rome. Phil. 3:9 ”And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”

It is not by works of righteousness that you can gain eternal life. Never forget this important declaration of the Apostle Paul: "By grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, and that no man should glory" (Eph. 2:8-9). Good works and obedience to the ordinances of God are the results of salvation, and not the source of it. Salvation is the result of being born again, through which birth you become a new creation (see 2 Cor. 5:17). And ye are "created in Christ Jesus for good works" (Eph. 2:10). And for every good work, even unto the giving of a cup of cold water, you will receive due reward. But, you belong to God because you have been redeemed. To be redeemed means that you belong to God by right of a purchase price paid. The nature of that purchase price is plain: "Ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold . . . but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, even the blood of Christ" (1 Pet. 1:18-19). Verily, it is written: "Ye were bought with a price" (1 Cor. 6:20; 7:23).
