Dress Code of the NT

 

The Lord of Glory is Who we approach in the worship service, Whom we should invite and expect to join us, is the One Who caused a 3 day blindness with Saul of Tarsus when he came into His presence.

            How is He dressed on the throne? Everyone who saw Him fell as dead men. [Stephan who was already on the ground being stoned to death saw Him standing as a caring King, also John, Paul]

Eph. 6:11 starts to list the spiritual dress.

1 Tim. 2:9 says it one ought to be dressed in proper clothing, even addressing jewelry.  

Mark 15:17 The enemy dressed Him in royalty colors because He made claim to be the Royal One for the nation.

Luke 7:25 Those who lived and ruled from palaces were splendidly dressed and lived in luxury.

1 Pet. 3:3 Their external adornment here is seen to be quite extensive and while not demeaned, Paul taught limitation in some areas but the internal adornment needed their focus because of Who is being worshipped. He is my Friend, but He is also my Savior, He is also my God, He is also my Creator, He is also my Counselor, my Sovereign, He is also my Advocate, He is also my Teacher, He is also my Judge, He is also my Bridegroom.

He suffered for me, He died in my place, He comforts me, He has given me gifts of extreme value, He led me to my wife.

This is just a tidbit of Who I approach in a worship service. I want to present myself as appreciative of His love, care, and concern for me as one of His Father's servants. He is holy and should be thought of and treated as such.

Matt. 8:8 Fit dwelling to receive the Christ.

 

It is appalling to see what the youth think is proper or acceptable in a worship service of our day. They obviously are not considering those issues mentioned above. They are just happy to have anyone enter the worship place anymore and that is the mentality of the day. It is more sorrowful to see that the church is in such disarray to allow such array within its walls. Is that harsh or expecting too much? Maybe you ought to read the article above one more time

DESPOT

Despot

 

Grk. despotes, des-pot'-ace; from G1210 and  posis (a husband); an absolute ruler ("despot"):--Lord, master.

Although used in America in a negative sense, the Bible uses this term to describe Jesus Christ by His own half-brother Jude 4 as well as the apostle Peter in his second letter in 2 Pet. 2:1.

Jude 4; 2 Peter 2:1; Here He is called a Despot by Peter, the Master. What a serious thing to be under the authority of Someone Who can upset everything in our lives without consulting us, and by a word can mark for us the moment of our departure! That is the government of God. We may say He is Lord and Master and then fail to talk with Him daily and look at His word to find direction from Him but we only fool ourselves to think such nonsense. God is absolute monarch wherever He is King at all. His government is autocratic. He does not consult with us as to what He shall do with us, where He shall send us, what He would have us to do. Moreover, His government is an imperative government. He never permits us to make compromises with Him for a single moment. He speaks the word of authority and has every right to. He marks the path without ever consulting us, and having done so, our only relationship to that government is that of implicit, unquestioning, immediate obedience.

Psa. 148:8-11 says "Fire, and hail; snow, and vapors; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children." All under the control of the Despot and are to give Him the glory.
But they term it Mother Nature. Fools.

 

Samuel's mother understood this as we read her poem in 1 Sam. 2:5-10:

"The Lord killeth, and maketh alive:
"He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
He bringeth low, He also lifteth up.
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,
He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill,
To make them sit with princes,
And inherit the throne of glory."

The song moves on:
"They that strive with the Lord shall be broken to pieces;
Against them shall He thunder in heaven:
The Lord shall judge the ends of the earth;
And He shall give strength unto His king,
And exalt the horn of His anointed."

He is the only One Who deserves and has earned the right to lead people in Bible Truth for He is that Truth in Person. See previous article. He is the only One Who has the right to show men what He meant when He gave these words to all those who wrote His instructions down that the Father gave Him in the various books of the Bible. See John 12:49. These two men knew Him well especially after the resurrection as the Holy Spirit finished the internal work they needed to comprehend His words as those words returned to their minds in flaming truth.

But look at what Peter noticed in his words of warning to all of us: "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction." And today that warning has been almost entirely disregarded as a fairy tale. We have a multiple generation of people who after 12 years of public and private education believe we have evolved from a state of slime to an educated species that determines our own set of morals. A person who believes God alone has that right and trusts His leadership is fortunate that they don't put people on crosses anymore although some countries put these people to death as they did the Despot. And isn't it funny that it was the Gentiles who were handed the task from the men in the fancy religious robes that didn't want the Despot telling them how to interpret scripture. The whole crowd took part.

TWO GREAT SOCIETIES OF THE DAY

 

In the two great societies of today where democracy is the political choice of the people, it is seen to be the vehicle that its leadership uses against its constituents unbeknownst to them. This has been the armament of the political leaders of the past as well. Those two great societies are those of Israel and the United States.

Here is how Israel used it against its people. A democracy is said to be of the people, by the people and for the people. Israel’s leader in the past gave them their choice. "And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people," Pilate “Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverts the people.” The people saw Jesus as a radical religionist ie. “And they cried out all at once, saying, away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas.” Luke 23:13, 18

God knows that "the spirit that worketh in the children of disobedience" (Eph. 2:2) is the devil and the devil loves the democratic movements of the day, for he, the devil, the god of this world brings to the forefront the thoughts of their fallen hearts. Get rid of Jesus and give us the Barabbas's of your day.

 

Today America has thrown out Christ in all areas of its makeup with prayer, the Ten Commandments, and the Bible being taught in school. They have chosen Barabbas twice in the last two elections. And in the next they have a choice of two other Barabbas’ characters: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. By the way Mr. Trump made his wealth using the rules of the democratic lawmakers where he could declare bankruptcy at will and steal wealth from others to make his fortunes. There is only so much wealth in this world so they squash those below them to elevate themselves. You either get bigger or you get out is the going practice in today’s world. Hillary didn’t do badly both using the laws of the land and breaking the ones that benefitted her elevation. Truth is not the persona of either of these two choices as is the case yet with Obama.

Truth again is a Person and His name is Jesus Christ, Who made that stupendous claim “I am the Truth.” (John 14:6)  America is on a death spiral as Rome in the past. They look for a politician for the answer. Democracy in its purest form is lawlessness as I taught in my last article. America is looking for a democratic answer when a Theocratic answer is the only solution and He is coming as promised many times as prior to His first coming. The Bible needs to be taken back off the shelf and lived with on a daily basis to learn about the King Who is coming.

DEMOCRACY

Democracy

 

“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.” Eph. 2:2

 

            A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapse over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

            The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency to bondage.

            Government of the people, by the people, and for the people. What is hard for us to conceive is that ideal democracy would accurately be described as "lawlessness," since it is manifest that an individual or a society which is under no restraint except as self-imposed, is really under no restraint at all. To attain this ideal state is the end and purpose of present day movements; and, in order to promote these movements, that mighty spiritual intelligence who is designated "the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience"  [Eph. 2:2] very wisely, and with consummate subtlety, directs the attack, from many different quarters, against the authority of the Bible.

            Not only is the Bible, with its preemptory assertion of supremacy and control over mankind, directly contrary to the democratic movement, but it is now the only real obstacle to the complete independence of humanity. If only the authority of the scriptures be gotten rid of, mankind will have attained the long-coveted state of absolute independence, which is equivalent to utter lawlessness.

DECREES

DECREES OF GOD

Decrees - 2 types from heaven above - a triune agreement before time began - predetermined by the Godhead

Causative  birth  Luke 22:22  "And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!"

Permissive  death  Matt. 18:7 "Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!"

 

 

DECREES A royal order. Decrees were proclaimed publically by criers (Jonah 3:5-7) designated "heralds" (Dan. 3:4) often throughout the territory of the monarch (1 Sam. 11:7; Ezra 1:1). Decrees were written and stored in archives for later reference (Ezra 6:1-2). Scripture attributes just decrees to divine wisdom (Prov. 8:15). Scripture also recognizes unjust decrees (Isa. 10:1). Some important decrees include: Cyrus' decree on rebuilding the Temple (Ezra 6:3-5); Esther's decree on the celebration of Purim (Esther 9:32); and the decree of Caesar Augustus which set the scene for the birth of Christ (Luke 2:1).

    As King of the earth, God issues decrees regulating the world of nature (the sea, Prov. 8:29; rain, Job 28:26) and of humanity (Dan. 4:24). God also decrees the reign of the Messianic King (Ps. 2:7).

    The KJV uses "decree" to describe the decision of the Apostolic Council (Acts 16:4) and of a human inward decision not to marry (1 Cor. 7:37). NIV refers to God's righteous decree of death for sinners (Rom. 1:32). NAS uses "decree" for God's law which led to disobedience and death (Col. 2:14, 20). NRSV uses "decree" to speak of God's eternal wisdom and plan for creation. Any translator using "decree" is interpreting the meaning of a more general Hebrew or Greek term, resulting in each translation using "decree" for several different words of the original language.

6 days and then He rested as if He had to. Exod. 20:11 (could this be the reason for the rest)

“For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

 

Gen. 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 How many ways does He have to say it to reveal these were 24 hr. days?

 

 

CONVICTION

 

 

John 16:8 ”And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”

 

The Ministry of the Spirit . . . . . concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. He comes to this earth which already is convicted of these three things but now with a new message concerning these three. All 3 have a new center which is Christocentric, just as with the ministry to the Church.

        Should produce activity, which is the basis of faith. If there be no conviction, faith is impossible.

        This is essentially a mental concept, a change of mind about the whole relationship of the man to the way he has been living his life, with self at the center and God shut out.

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

"But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?"

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
